Bus leaves Minehead Community College, Bircham Road, Minehead at9.15am
PLEASE NOTE- Closing Date for a guaranteed seat on the bus is the 22nd July. Entires will be taken on the day, but there is no guaranteed seat on the bus, so you will have to make your own arrangements if over booked.
A brief synopsis of the course: this is a tough 'find your own way' run.There will be helpful markers at awkward places and several water stations, but the onus is on you to follow the Coast path signs. These have been greatly improved in the last couple of years. There is a short sharp climb near the start followed by undulating tracks to the first water station.. From here there is a new section this year which give better views. This will be marked and you will rejoin the route a mile and half further on. There is a small shop at Porlock Weir if you need sustenance to prepare you for the major climb up Hurlestone Combe to Selworthy Beacon after first crossing Porlock Bay. From there it is undulating, the downhill to Minehead promenade, which you run along to the roundabout at Butlins (Big White Canopy). Turn right along Seaward Way, over the railway line, past MacDonalds and the Aquasplash and over the road that leads to Tesco. Turn right through the park and left through a large gate which takes you into the College grounds and finish.
